ANALYTES

Analytes are the substances measured in this test, which include:

  • Zonulin

rESULTS

sample Req.

Zonulin is a regulatory protein involved in modulating intestinal barrier permeability through its effect on tight junction complexes between epithelial cells. Elevated faecal zonulin levels are interpreted as a biomarker associated with increased intestinal permeability and potential disruption of gut barrier integrity.

Results are assessed against established reference ranges to determine whether concentrations fall within expected physiological limits or are consistent with increased intestinal permeability.

  • > 100 ng/mL are suggestive of intestinal hyperpermeability.

The results of your health assessment have identified specific signs and symptoms that are clinically consistent with an increased risk of

  • Intestinal Permeability

Enzymatic Maldigestion associated with a range of conditions and signs, which have been clinically verified to include

  • All chronic skin conditions

  • IgE - Food allergies, immediate hypersensitivity

  • IgG - Food Intolerances, delayed hypersensitivity

  • Autoimmunity

  • Inflammatory digestive disorders

  • Chronic diarrhoea

  • Asthma

  • Chronic Low Energy

This investigation is optional and may be used to verify the need for intestinal permeability intervention.

In the absence of testing, the treatment plan is tailored to address suspected contributors based on the presence of specific signs and symptoms and their degree of correlation with those contributors. If testing is undertaken, the assessment will be re-evaluated in accordance with the test results. You will be updated with the test results alongside any treatment revisions necessary.

A stool analysis kit will be dispatched directly to you, accompanied by detailed written instructions outlining appropriate sample collection procedures to ensure specimen integrity and accuracy of results.

The kit includes all necessary collection materials and a prepaid return package to facilitate secure transport back to the laboratory for processing.

To minimise transit delays and preserve sample stability, collection is to be completed on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday only, thereby avoiding weekend postage interruptions.

Estimated Turnaround Time: 5 business days
