Luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) are foundational components of this assessment, as they give insight into hypothalamic–pituitary signalling and ovarian stimulation. These reflect how effectively the pituitary is communicating with the ovaries to regulate follicular development, ovulation, and steroid hormone production.
The inclusion of additional analytes, including estradiol (E2), progesterone, prolactin, DHEAs, testosterone, SHBG, and albumin, allows for a more comprehensive interpretation of female hypogonadism.
Estradiol and progesterone assess ovarian output and ovulatory status, prolactin evaluates pituitary influence, and DHEAs and testosterone provide insight into adrenal and androgen contribution. When interpreted collectively this provides a clinically robust framework for identifying the underlying mechanism of reproductive suppression or dysregulation.

This investigation is optional and may be used to verify the need for therapeutic intervention.
In the absence of testing, treatment is tailored to address suspected contributors based on the presence of specific signs and symptoms and their degree of correlation with those contributors. If testing is undertaken, the assessment will be re-evaluated in accordance with the test results. You will be updated with the test results alongside any treatment revisions necessary.
A blood collection kit will be dispatched to you by post.
