LS01
Lactobacillus salivarius LS01
Alleviates Eczema and Dermatitis
Dermatitis + Eczema
Lactobacillus salivarius LS01 modulates immune balance by stabilising Th1/Th2 responses, and the decline in IFN-γ typically seen in eczema and dermatitis. LS01 also significantly reduced faecal Staphylococcus counts, a genus strongly linked with eczema and dermatitis severity, suggesting a beneficial effect on the gut–skin axis and barrier-related inflammation. [26]
ClInical Results
Eczema
In clinical research adults treated with LS01 experienced a 52% reduction in eczema, in comparison to a nonsignificant 17% reduction in the placebo group. The probiotic was well tolerated, produced no adverse events, and remained detectable in stool in 100% of patients at week 16, demonstrating good colonisation during therapy. [26]
