Clinical Benefits
Tribulus Forte is specifically formulated to support reproductive health by addressing hypogonadism, a condition characterized by impaired production of reproductive hormones due to deficient hypothalamic signaling. This hormonal imbalance can lead to menstrual absence in women and reduced testosterone levels in men, affecting overall reproductive function and wellbeing.
The primary active ingredient, Tribulus terrestris, contains powerful saponins, particularly protodioscin, which are believed to enhance hypothalamic signaling and stimulate the pituitary to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). These hormones are crucial for promoting increased production of estradiol and progesterone in women, and testosterone in men [33]. Clinical research demonstrates impressive results across both sexes, with male studies showing significant hormonal improvements when participants with hypogonadism received 750 mg of Tribulus daily for three months.
For men with low baseline testosterone levels below 300, two separate clinical trials revealed remarkable outcomes. In one study, total testosterone levels rose by approximately 27%, while another study demonstrated a 33% increase in total testosterone after three months of supplementation [36]. These results highlight Tribulus's potential to restore healthy hormone levels in men experiencing hypogonadism and its associated symptoms including low libido, erectile dysfunction, and reduced energy.
In female studies, Tribulus has shown equally compelling results for reproductive health. When administered to subjects at approximately 1000mg daily equivalent for four weeks, research demonstrated a 32% increase in LH and 30% increase in progesterone, while maintaining similar estrogen levels [34]. Additional studies have shown that 750 mg per day of Tribulus extract taken for five days resulted in a 61% increase in serum FSH, which is essential for supporting ovulation. Perhaps most significantly, when compared with standard pharmaceutical ovulation inducers like clomiphene over a three-month period, Tribulus demonstrated superior effectiveness with a 60% success rate compared to clomiphene's 47% [35].
Further research has confirmed Tribulus's ability to restore normal ovarian function, with multiple studies showing restored ovulation in a significant proportion of participants compared with untreated controls. The studies also revealed reduced cystic changes in ovaries and improved ovarian morphology, indicating successful ovulation and healthier reproductive function overall. This makes Tribulus particularly valuable for women experiencing menstrual absence or irregular cycles due to hypogonadism.
