Clinical Benefits
T-Clear is formulated to address hyperandrogenism, a hormonal condition characterized by excess testosterone and DHEA-S levels in women. This imbalance can manifest through irregular menstrual cycles, acne, hair loss, and metabolic dysfunction, making targeted nutritional support essential for hormonal restoration.
Myo-inositol serves as the cornerstone ingredient, directly targeting insulin-mediated testosterone production. Clinical research demonstrates that 4 grams daily for 12 weeks resulted in a 50% reduction in serum testosterone levels, alongside significant decreases in DHEA and luteinizing hormone (LH) [3]. In a separate study with 50 PCOS women, 2 grams of myo-inositol combined with 200 µg folic acid led to a 52% reduction in fasting insulin levels and a 56% decrease in insulin resistance [3]. When compared to metformin over six months, myo-inositol achieved comparable insulin-lowering effects while delivering superior reproductive benefits, including a 39% reduction in menstrual cycle length and improved oocyte quality from 35% to 82% [3].
Licorice extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra) provides powerful anti-androgenic effects through its active compound glycyrrhetinic acid, which inhibits 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase to limit testosterone synthesis from both adrenal and ovarian pathways. Clinical evidence shows that 3.5g daily for one month produces a 37% decrease in serum testosterone in healthy women [3][5]. Animal studies further demonstrate licorice's ability to restore follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels, normalize LH/FSH ratios, and reverse ovarian abnormalities including follicular cysts and theca cell thickening [21]. Additional research shows licorice enhances oocyte maturation, fertilization rates, and embryo development [22].
White Peony (Paeonia lactiflora) complements these effects by targeting multiple pathways involved in testosterone regulation. It downregulates CYP17A1 and CYP11A1 enzymes responsible for testosterone production, enhances aromatase activity to convert testosterone into estrogen, and inhibits 5α-reductase to prevent conversion to the more potent DHT [3][5]. Clinical studies using approximately 7.5g over 2-3 months demonstrated 40-60% reductions in serum testosterone levels, improved menstrual regularity, and visible reductions in acne and hirsutism [3][5][23][24]. White Peony also improved ovarian morphology by reducing cystic follicles, increasing corpus luteum formation, and enhancing insulin sensitivity.
Chromium chloride hexahydrate provides chromium, an essential trace mineral that enhances insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism, helping to address the insulin resistance commonly associated with hyperandrogenism. Folic acid supports cellular metabolism and works synergistically with inositol to optimize hormonal balance and reproductive function.

Major Interactions
Moderate Interactions
• Used for: heart failure, atrial fibrillation
Large amounts of licorice can decrease potassium levels in the body. Low potassium levels can increase the side effects of digoxin.
Estrogens
• Oral contraceptive pill
• Estradiol
• Conjugated estrogens
• HRT combination products
Licorice seems to change hormone levels in the body. Taking licorice along with estrogen might decrease the effects of estrogen.
Medications changed by the liver
• Cytochrome P450 2B6 substrates
Some medications are changed and broken down by the liver. Licorice might change how quickly the liver breaks down these medications. If you are taking medications metabolised by the liver, monitor for any changes in how your medication affects you.
Medications changed by the liver
• Omeprazole
• Esomeprazole
• Clopidogrel
• Diazepam
• Escitalopram
• Sertraline
Medications changed by the liver
• Cytochrome P450 2C8 substrates
• Glipizide
• Phenytoin
• Losartan
• Atorvastatin
• Simvastatin
• Amlodipine
• Diltiazem
• Cyclosporine
• Tacrolimus
• Midazolam
• Alprazolam
• Rivaroxaban
• Some HIV antiretrovirals
Medications for high blood pressure
• Amlodipine
• Ramipril
• Perindopril
• Metoprolol
• Losartan
• Hydrochlorothiazide
Licorice might increase blood pressure. Taking licorice might reduce the effects of blood pressure medications. Monitor your blood pressure closely.
Medications for inflammation
• Corticosteroids
Licorice can decrease how quickly the body breaks down corticosteroids. This can increase the effects and side effects of corticosteroids.
Medications moved by pumps in cells
• P-glycoprotein substrates
Some medications are moved in and out of cells by pumps. Licorice might change how these pumps work and change how much medication stays in the body. In some cases, this might change the effects and side effects of a medication.
Midazolam
• Versed
Licorice might increase how quickly midazolam is broken down by the body. This might decrease the effects of midazolam.
Paclitaxel
• Abraxane
• Onxol
• Taxol
• Used for: various cancers
Licorice might increase how quickly the body breaks down paclitaxel. Taking licorice with paclitaxel might decrease the effects of paclitaxel.
• Jantoven
• Used for: blood thinning, clot prevention
Warfarin is used to slow blood clotting. Licorice might decrease the effects of warfarin. Decreasing the effects of warfarin might increase the risk of clotting. Be sure to have your blood checked regularly. The dose of your warfarin might need to be changed.
Diuretics
• Diuretic drugs
Licorice can decrease potassium levels. "Diuretics" can also decrease potassium levels. Taking licorice along with "Diuretics" might make potassium levels drop too low.
