Super Mushroom with Astragalus provides targeted support for innate immune impairment, a condition where the body's first-line defense cells—neutrophils and macrophages—show reduced functionality and responsiveness. This impairment can manifest as frequent infections, prolonged recovery times, recurrent respiratory issues, and poor wound healing, making immune restoration essential for preventing complications like chronic infections and systemic inflammation.

Astragalus membranaceus stands as one of the most scientifically validated immune-supportive herbs, with centuries of traditional use now backed by modern immunology. Astragalus polysaccharides (APS) support neutrophil proliferation and maturation by promoting the differentiation of granulocyte precursors in the bone marrow, while upregulating L-selectin to help neutrophils better adhere to cells and exit the bloodstream into infected tissues [16][2][3][5][14][15][37]. The herb also activates macrophages by increasing the expression of TLR-4, IL-6, and IL-12, which are essential for antiviral and antibacterial responses, while upregulating macrophage nitric oxide synthase for improved intracellular pathogen destruction. In clinical studies, APS effectively supported immune recovery after chemotherapy and outperformed granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), demonstrating more consistent increases in mature neutrophil levels and enhanced migration to infection sites [37].

Trametes versicolor, commonly known as Turkey Tail, contains polysaccharide-K (PSK) and polysaccharide-peptide (PSP)—potent biological response modifiers that enhance innate immunity through multiple pathways. Turkey Tail enhances neutrophil recruitment via IL-8 mediated chemotaxis, promoting neutrophil migration to infection sites, while stimulating macrophage production of IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β to improve recruitment of other immune cells and enhance macrophage killing ability [11][12]. The mushroom also promotes dendritic synergy, supporting cross-communication between the innate and adaptive immune systems. Clinical trials using 3-6 grams per day of PSK improved neutrophil counts, macrophage responsiveness, and survival in patients with chronic infection or immune suppression.

Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi) provides immune modulation and balance through β-glucans, triterpenoids, and ganoderic acids, making it particularly beneficial for immune dysregulation conditions like chronic inflammation or post-infectious fatigue. Reishi polysaccharides regulate immune function by reducing excessive production of reactive oxygen species, preserving surrounding tissue integrity, while encouraging the transition of macrophages from M1 (inflammatory) to M2 (repair) phenotype to facilitate resolution of inflammation and tissue regeneration [15][36]. The mushroom balances IL-1β and IL-10 production, reducing cytokine storms and restoring controlled immunity in chronic inflammatory states. Human and animal studies using 1.5-5 grams per day of standardized Reishi extract have shown reduced inflammatory markers and enhanced infection recovery rates.

Together, these three ingredients create a comprehensive approach to innate immune restoration, with Astragalus directly supporting immune cell production and function, Turkey Tail enhancing immune cell communication and pathogen clearance, and Reishi providing the crucial balance needed to prevent immune system overactivation while maintaining effective pathogen defense.
